The Board of Directors of the Bahrain Anti-Doping Organisation holds its second quarterly meeting

The Board of Directors of the Bahrain Anti-Doping Organisation (BNADO) held its second quarterly meeting of 2026, chaired by Dr. Khalid Abdulaziz Alshaikh, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, and attended by board members, the Organisation’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Saad Mubarak Alnefaie, along with a number of the Organisation’s officials and advisors.

During the meeting, the board reviewed the most prominent developments in institutional work. The CEO delivered a comprehensive presentation on the completion rates of initiatives and programs included in the Organisation’s strategic plan for 2026, in addition to reviewing performance indicators and the financial and technical results for the past period, reflecting the level of progress achieved in implementing strategic objectives and enhancing institutional performance efficiency.

The Board of Directors praised the achievements realized across various operational and supervisory aspects, emphasizing the importance of continuing to work in accordance with best international practices, which contributes to strengthening the anti-doping system and solidifying the principles of integrity and transparency in the sports sector.

The board also discussed a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding slated to be concluded with relevant entities at the local and international levels, to enhance joint cooperation, contribute to the exchange of expertise and capacity building, and support the Organisation’s efforts in developing its work system and elevating the level of services provided.

In a related context, the board was briefed on the updates regarding the project to issue the BNADO rules, which are being prepared in line with the provisions of the World Anti-Doping Code issued by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), pending their adoption and implementation effective January 1, 2027, to ensure the alignment of national legislation with international requirements and standards.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Board of Directors affirmed its continued support for efforts aimed at spreading the culture of clean sport and raising awareness of the importance of anti-doping, alongside enhancing the Organisation’s readiness to keep pace with global developments, contributing to protecting athletes and strengthening the Kingdom of Bahrain’s standing in its commitment to international standards of sports integrity.
