
The proceedings of the First Gulf Anti-Doping Forum, held under the slogan “Enhancing Communication Channels, Exchanging Expertise, and Building Strategic Partnerships,” was hosted from November 4 to 5, 2025, in the capital, Manama. The forum was organized at the initiative of the Bahraini National Anti-Doping Organization (BNADO).
The organization of the forum, with the participation of all Anti-Doping organizations and committees in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, emphasized the importance of joint Gulf work in this vital field.
The forum witnessed wide attendance from representatives of concerned bodies and organizations. Its events focused on enhancing mechanisms for cooperation and integration and building bridges of effective partnership between Anti-Doping organizations in the GCC countries, seeking to protect Gulf sports from the scourge of doping and to consolidate the principles of integrity and transparency in the sports system.
Mr. Saad Mubarak Alnefaie, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahraini Anti-Doping Organization, affirmed that the convening of this forum represents a strategic step towards building a Gulf system in the field of Anti-Doping, based on partnership, trust, and shared responsibility, aiming to establish a clean, safe, and sustainable Gulf sport for future generations.
He explained that the forum embodies the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to supporting joint Gulf cooperation through the exchange of expertise, unifying efforts, and enhancing institutional capacities in this field.
The forum’s program included a discussion session for the CEOs of Anti-Doping organizations in the GCC countries, which addressed mechanisms for joint cooperation and capacity building, in addition to reviewing the most prominent challenges facing Gulf organizations in this vital sector.
The Bahraini Anti-Doping Organization also presented a presentation titled “Strategic Gulf Partnership in the Field of Anti-Doping,” which included an overview of the World Anti-Doping System and a roadmap for enhancing Gulf cooperation in the coming years.
